Penn State Greater Allegheny will always care for and advance the success of our students and communities. We will grow and change to meet the academic and community engagement needs of the future. —Penn State Greater Allegheny Vision Statement
With the help of generous donors investing in the campus, the campus has expanded its academic offerings, increased its scholarship endowment, built a beautiful Student Community Center, and provided educational and cultural opportunities well beyond our campus borders. We invite you to help us reach our philanthropic goals.
Ensuring Access and Opportunity through Student Scholarships
The number one priority at the campus is ensuring access to a Penn State education for qualified students. The average family income of students attending the campus is significantly lower than the average family income of all University students. Last fall, over 90% of our new students were determined to have financial need. On average, the percentage of need that was met for students who were awarded any need-based aid was only 70% leaving a considerable gap for many of our neediest students.
Enhancing Academic Programs and Student Life
Partnerships and philanthropic support can help strengthen academic courses and programs, the Honors program, cultural programs, international studies, athletics and fitness, and career services, to name just a few areas.
Making Life Better in our Communities
The campus has a long history of working with foundations, organizations, and individuals interested in helping make life better through outreach programs. We also have strong partnerships with area K-12 schools and childcare organizations to help prepare students for the rigors of college.
