Looking for something to do, but don’t know how you are going to get there? Students at Penn State Greater Allegheny have access to a shuttle seven days a week. On weekends, the shuttle stops on campus at the side resident life parking lot near the steps, and on weekdays at the bus terminal near the Frable and Main buildings.
On weekdays, the van travels to the McKeesport Transportation Center at 541 Lysle Blvd., McKeesport where students can pick up a bus to other locations. It also stops at Olympia, Oak Park and Rainbow Shopping Centers. Allegheny County's Port Authority (PAT) buses connect from the Transportation Center to other parts of the region. PAT bus trips can be planned using Google Maps, and some PAT bus routes can now be tracked using the Port Authority of Allegheny County Real-Time System (available on a web page and also as an app [see Pittsburgh City Paper, "More routes added to PAT's real-time bus tracking system"]).
On the weekends, students can take the shuttle to go have some fun off campus, to AMC Theatre in the Waterfront, the Heinz History Center, Monroeville Mall, and the Cheesecake Factory on the South Side. For additional information on the van schedule, call 412-675-9003.
