Teaching Africa Series Continues
Dr. James Stewart, Professor of African and African American Studies and Labor and Industrial Relations, will highlight the changes and continuities between Apartheid and post-Apartheid South Africa during his campus presentation on Tuesday, October 25 in the Frable Conference Center, Room 117. Dr. Stewart 's slide presentation and discussion on the subject will be personalized by his own experiences, gained during his visits to South Africa in the 1980's and 1990's.
The presentation, entitled "South Africa Apartheid: A Personal Experience," is part of the Teaching Africa Speakers Series. Dr. Stewart will also discuss the challenges in implementing the South African equivalent of affirmative action as compared to the United States.
Penn State McKeesport, having official international designation by the University, has included Africa as the focus of its 2005 curriculum.
Dr. Stewart's presentation is open to the campus and the community.
