An evening of French and French-Canadian Songs

Teris and Beaumier

As part of Teaching Canada, two local musicians will be performing French and French-Canadian songs. The event will take place on Tuesday December 3 at 7 pm at the stage in Cafe Metro, Student Community Center.

Iris Beaumier is a freshman musical theatre major at Carnegie Mellon University and recent graduate of New York City's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Fluent in French and English, her study at LaGuardia spanned from classical German to contemporary French singing. Iris has traveled to France, Quebec and Morocco and most recently performed for Centre Francophone/French Cultural Center in Pittsburgh.

Theodore Teris is a sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University studying Music Composition and Electronic Music. Already an extraordinary pianist/keyboardist, his love for a wide range of musical genres has taken him internationally to Russia and Spain to study. This summer Theodore will attend the Composer's Forum in Bangkok, Thailand and he plans to reprise a performance tour in the Ukraine.
