Welcome to our Penn State Greater Allegheny family! We are looking forward to getting to know you.

New students will receive Orientation 2012 information by mail.

Orientation is very important! Please send the RSVP card to the Student Affairs Office at: 4000 University Dr, Student Community Center 113, McKeesport PA, 15132.

Thursday, August 23

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Residence Halls Open For New Students

New students living in the residence halls arrive for check-in and room keys and move in.

9:00 - 11:45 a.m. Orientation for the International students.

Meeting with campus nurse
  • Health insurance
  • Immunizations
Meeting with Director of Student Affairs
  • Required documentation
  • On campus employment/need for social security number
  • Requirements for driver's license

1:00 p.m. Trip as needed to Social Security Office

5:45 p.m. Residence Hall Parents' send off (parents return for next day's events)

6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Orientation Group Leaders meet with new students

8:30 - 9:30 p.m. Mandatory Residence Hall meetings - Residence Hall lobby

Residence Life Coordinator and Resident Assistants (RA) will inform new residents about upcoming events, services, policies, and rules at Penn State Greater Allegheny.

Friday, August 24 Orientation Begins

10:00 a.m. First-year student check-in begins

3:00 p.m. Ice cream social and parent send off

Saturday, August 25 Orientation Continues

8:30 - 9:30 a.m. First year student breakfast

9:45 - 10:30 a.m. Meet the Student Affairs staff

10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Residence Halls open for returning students

Offices open

  • Housing and Food Service, Student ID - Student Community Center, top floor

10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Diversity Matters

Athletic Field

11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Students will be given a $7 coupon toward lunch - anything over that must be paid in cash
